George A. Yancey is Professor of Sociology at Baylor University and Director of the Program on Christianity and Community Studies at Baylor's Institute for Studies of Religion. His research focuses on race relations, multiracial congregations, institutional racial diversity, and anti-Christian attitudes and bias in academia. He joined Baylor in 2019 after nearly two decades at the University of North Texas, and was invested as a member of the American Academy of Sciences and Letters in 2025.
