Robert D. Woodberry is Senior Research Professor and Director of the Project on Religion and Economic Change at Baylor University's Institute for Studies of Religion and Institute for Global Human Flourishing. His research uses comparative historical and statistical methods to analyze the long-term social, political, and economic impact of Protestant missionary activity in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. He is best known for his American Political Science Review article 'The Missionary Roots of Liberal Democracy.'
