Juan Xi is a professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of Akron, specializing in mental health and wellbeing, aging and the life course, and the sociology of migration. His research examines inner peace as a component of human flourishing and has produced widely cited work on wellbeing scales drawing from ancient wisdom traditions.
