Thomas S. Kidd is the John and Sharon Yeats Endowed Chair of Baptist Studies at Baylor University and Research Professor of Church History at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He holds a PhD in history from the University of Notre Dame and is one of the foremost academic historians of American religious history. His books include studies of Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, George Whitefield, and the history of evangelical Christianity in America, published by Yale University Press and others.
