Lucía Macchia

Lucía Macchia is a Lecturer at City St George's, University of London, and a Research Affiliate at the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford. Her research integrates psychology and behavioural economics to study quantitative dimensions of human wellbeing, with a particular focus on physical pain as a socioeconomic and psychosocial phenomenon. She has contributed to the OECD's 2025 guidelines on measuring subjective well-being, helping to establish pain as a key wellbeing indicator.
