Fernanda Ortega

Fernanda Ortega (full name Maria Fernanda Ortega Valencia) is a Junior Research Associate at the Global Solutions Initiative (GSI) in Berlin, where she works on projects assessing human flourishing and global wellbeing beyond economic metrics. Her research applies the SAGE framework — covering solidarity, agency, material gain, and environmental sustainability — to cross-country analysis of development outcomes. She holds a Master of Data Science for Public Policy from Hertie School and a Bachelor of International Relations from the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM), and previously contributed to governance and anti-corruption research at the World Justice Project and the Ethos think tank.
