Alexander Kirchner-Häusler is a Program-Specific Lecturer at the Institute for the Future of Human Society (IFOHS), Kyoto University, and an affiliated researcher at the University of Sussex and KU Leuven. His research in cultural psychology investigates how cultural fit—alignment between individuals' psychological tendencies and their socio-cultural environments—shapes emotional experience, relationship dynamics, and psychological well-being. He has conducted cross-cultural studies comparing Japanese and Western contexts, as well as work on honor cultures in Mediterranean societies.
